Frederick Frigid Weather Trucking

All I can say is make sure you plug that tractor in to keep it warm enough to start in the morning!

Snow Removal Season?

Heating Oil Delivery?

Propane Delivery?

When I drove a truck I always made more money in the winter than I ever did for the rest of the year. I have HazMat and I delivered heating oil for the old Steuart Petroleum during the 80's and 90's.
Normally this time of year can be a tough time to get a truck driving job. With the housing industry tanking and taking credit and the stock market with it the rest of the year may be "slim pickings" as well.

I saw on a Cable Business show that there were clear indicators that the economy should turn around by July 09 (well, I found the argument lucid, good enough for me to post here)

On the bright side fuel costs are way down, that translates into lower overhead for truck owners and increased shipping (driving demand for what we do for a living back up). More than once I've worked on a truck far into the night and had to wake up at 00:dark thirty because if I'd not worked on the truck there would have been nothing for me to drive the next day.

I found these two Frederick Maryland Openings for truck drivers in the paper. I posted them here to illustrate that if you are an experienced dump truck driver, you can still find work opportunities pushing snow even though the season for hauling dirt and stone is several months off.
